We were in NYC last weekend for a Night at the Museum sleepover with Animal Jam. We wanted to make the most of our trip so we hopped the PATH train over to Hoboken to visit “The Cake Boss”!
Here’s a few tips if you’re thinking of planning a visit of your own:
Weekdays and Mornings
For the shortest waits weekdays and mornings are your safest bet! We stopped by the store on a Saturday afternoon and the line moved fast. There is usually at least one family member in the store and sometimes you’ll get lucky and see everyone!
Bonus: They just finished remodeling the Hoboken store last week – it’s gorgeous!
What Should You Order?!?
As long as you’re there you might as well order the famous favorites:
- Lobster Tail
- Crumb Cake
- Cannoli
- Rugelach
- Strawberry Cheesecake
Hit Brunch
Carlo’s hosts an amazing brunch at the warehouse on Saturday’s. You can book by calling 201.448.8394. It costs $40 per person. There’s TONS of food (and of course plenty of cannoli for dessert!)
Our favorites:
- The waffle and pancake bar! (the girls said that they were the best waffles of their lives)
- Omelettes
- Stir Fry
- Salmon
- Cannoli for dessert!
Your odds are good at seeing someone from the show at the warehouse. Look who we ran into!
Take a Cake Decorating Class
Book in advance, they fill up fast! We were so jealous of the students in the cake decorating class. How bad do I want to roll out fondant and wrap it around a cake? Pretty bad. We’ll do this next time for sure!
Classes cost $125 and you can sign up here: http://classes.carlosbakery.com
Have Carlo’s Delivered to Your House
Don’t want to stuff your goodies in your suitcase? Have it delivered to your home! They ship a limited menu across the country:
